Terms of service

This is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

These terms govern the use of CalFollow. By creating an account, you agree to them.

1. Provider and scope

CalFollow is provided by Proceture Association, Huobweid 4, 6333 Hünenberg See, Switzerland. These terms apply to everyone who uses CalFollow – both for following other people’s calendars and for publishing your own events.

2. Service

CalFollow lets you publish events and recurring events, follow other people’s calendars and view the events you follow in one place, or add them to Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar as a calendar feed. Use is free of charge. There is no entitlement to any particular range of features or to uninterrupted availability; the provider may change, extend or discontinue features.

3. Account

An account is required to publish your own events. The information provided must be accurate. Login credentials must be kept confidential; the account holder is responsible for any actions carried out via their account. An account may only be used by the person for whom it was created.

The account can only be used once the email address has been confirmed via the link we send. If it is not confirmed within seven days, the account is deleted automatically. Accounts that have not been used for two years – neither to log in nor via the calendar feed – are also deleted; we notify you by email 30 days in advance, and logging in once is enough to keep the account. Accounts that manage an organization are exempt from both.

4. User content

Whoever posts events, descriptions, names and images is solely responsible for them. By publishing, they warrant that they hold the necessary rights – in particular to images – and do not infringe any third-party rights.

In particular, content is prohibited that

  • violates applicable law,
  • infringes third-party rights, such as copyright, trademark or personality rights,
  • is offensive, discriminatory, glorifies violence or is unsuitable for minors,
  • contains advertising unrelated to an event or distributes malware.

The provider may remove content that violates these terms without prior notice and suspend the accounts concerned.

5. Rights of use

The rights to posted content remain with the person who posted it. They grant the provider the non-exclusive, territorially unrestricted right to store and display this content as part of operating the service and to deliver it to people who follow it – including as a calendar feed. This right ends when the content in question is deleted, unless a statutory retention obligation prevents this.

6. Acceptable use

Misuse of the application is not permitted, in particular large-scale automated scraping, circumventing access restrictions such as calendar passwords or secret links, sending spam, and any actions that impair operation or security.

7. Availability

The application is provided without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, faults or outages at the service providers used may lead to interruptions. Event data should therefore not serve as the sole source for time-critical matters.

8. Liability

The provider is only liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence, for indirect damage, loss of profit and data loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law. No liability is accepted for the accuracy and timeliness of events published by users. Mandatory statutory liability, in particular for personal injury, remains reserved.

9. Term and termination

The user relationship runs for an indefinite period. You can delete your account at any time without giving reasons in your account settings; this also removes your organizations, calendars and events. The provider may terminate the user relationship without notice in the event of serious or repeated violations of these terms, and otherwise with reasonable notice.

10. Changes to these terms

The provider may amend these terms, for example if features or the legal situation change. Users will be informed of material changes in the application or by email. Anyone who does not agree with a change can delete their account.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. The place of jurisdiction is Canton of Zug, Switzerland. Mandatory places of jurisdiction for consumers remain reserved.
